Teachers Guide
The Polynesian Cultural Center is committed to helping teacher’s within the State of Hawaii in teaching their students about the Polynesian culture. We have compiled a resource guide which contains lesson plans, lesson topics, lesson ideas, activities and resources to enhance your students’ experience. The lesson plans and activities have been created with specific activities in mind. Each lesson will prepare your students for a specific tour experience.
Central to each lesson plan or activity is the class visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Be sure to book your tour date as far in advanced as possible. This will assure your ability to participate in your requested tour activities at a time that is conducive to your class schedule.
For your convenience, appropriate Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III have been attached. Please be aware that all tours vary in length, content and detail. With this in mind, during your visit, please be sure to follow up with your tour guide or cultural artisans and presenters regarding information that may not have been covered.
