Imu Presentation
The Ali’i Lu‘au experience begins as guests view first-hand the roast pig being lifted off the steaming rocks of the imu (underground oven) pit. During this popular ceremony, your host explains the traditional methods surrounding the preparation of the oven, which slow cooks the pork each evening to mouthwatering perfection.

Royal Court Presentation
The blowing of a conch shell announces the arrival of Hawaiian royalty, the Ali‘i court. Ali‘i were believed to be descendants of heavenly beings whose responsibility was to manage the affairs of the land and people on behalf of the gods.

This all-Hawaiian show features authentic hula kahiko, or ancient dances, that tell stories of old Hawai‘i, starting with the birth of King Kamehameha who unified the islands. The show then moves into hula ‘auana, the modern version of the hula, accompanied by a trio of stringed instruments.
