Beat COVID-19 by Doing Your Part
Today’s Star Advertiser included the headline “Hawaii health officials say more triple-digit coronavirus cases will compromise hospitals.”
The article goes on to state “Hawaii Department of Health officials reported 248 new coronavirus cases Sunday, adding to a surge of COVID-19 cases that health officials warn is putting a strain on the health care system, especially hospitals.” Hawaii Lt. Gov. Josh Green, an emergency room doctor, added “the challenge comes if the patients need intensive care, since 120, or 49%, of the state’s ICU beds are filled. He said generally about 20% of COVID-19 related hospitalizations will require intensive care.”
I hope this reminds all of us to be careful out there. Wear your mask when around others, practice good hygiene including regularly washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water, practice social distancing of 6 feet and do not congregate in groups larger than five, especially with individuals outside your “bubbles”.
We can beat this; we just have to do our part.
