Restaurants, food trucks and shopping stores will reopen to kama‘āina following safe practices
WHAT:
Reminiscing about the 50s couldn’t feel more real at the Hukilau Marketplace at the Polynesian Cultural Center. This summer, kama‘āina are invited to rediscover the Hukilau Marketplace with free drive-in movies (on Friday nights), hometown grinds, prizes and live music.
In accordance to the Hawai‘i State Department of Health’s reopening roadmap, the Hukilau Marketplace will reopen to the kama‘āina following set guidelines, including, but not limited to:
- Limited seating at Pounder’s Restaurant and encouraging advanced reservations
- Six-feet physical distance between tables will be maintained, including at the door and floor signage
- Hand sanitation stations at all storefronts
- Stores to operate at fifty percent capacity to ensure social distancing when shopping
- All kama‘āina will be required to wear cloth face masks at all times, unless they are actively eating.
Restaurants and stores at the Hukilau Marketplace will resume normal business hours beginning June 8.
Special all-day festivities on June 12 include live music, prizes, and an old-fashioned drive-in movie on Fridays in the evenings.
