Pounders Restaurant At The Hukilau Marketplace Under New Lease And Management Beginning May 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 29, 2024

LĀ‘IE, HI – Pounders Restaurant located in the Hukilau Marketplace announces it will be under new lease and management beginning May 1, 2024. The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) leased Pounders Restaurant to Hawai‘i businessman Ryan Tanaka, CEO and Managing Partner of KAI Hawaii, Underground Services, and Giovanni Pastrami Restaurant Group.Hawai‘i.

“I am beyond excited to serve O‘ahu’s North Shore community, and continue Pounders Restaurant’s commitment to the neighborhood it serves,” says Ryan Tanaka, independent contractor of Pounders Restaurant. “I am thrilled to now be part of this tight knit community, and I look forward to continuing this relationship for years to come.”

Pounders Restaurant honors sustainable food sourcing – local fresh-picked produce, maintainable fishing practices and earth friendly food production – the ahupua‘a system. Pounders pays homage to this tradition with pasture raised meats, fish from Hawai‘i waters, local produce raised on island with an emphasis on natural ingredients and served with aloha.

“We are honored to have Ryan join the PCC ‘ohana by managing our iconic Pounders Restaurant at the Hukilau Marketplace,” says Greg Maples, Vice President of Culinary Services at the Polynesian Cultural Center. “Ryan is savvy with a wealth of knowledge in business management and ownership – with that, he will drive Pounders to the next level – and that’s exactly what we need.”

Pounders Restaurant will be closed on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1 to switchover management of the restaurant from PCC to Ryan Tanaka. For more information about Pounders Restaurant, visit https://poundersrestaurant.com.
