DETAILS: This performance is part of a larger inter-island cultural voyage by Iosepa, a 57-foot double-hulled canoe built by the Brigham Young University–Hawaiʻi (BYUH) community and launched in 2001 to preserve and teach traditional Polynesian wayfinding. As the canoe docks in Lāhainā for several days, the performers will offer this special program to mahalo the local community and uplift spirits through culture and aloha.
The show will highlight dance and song from across Polynesia, including Hawaiʻi, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, and Aotearoa.
